St. Patrick’s Day 2011 Events Philadelphia – Parade Since 1771

Sunday, March 13 -11:00 AM – 241st Annual Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade on the Beautiful Benjamin Franklin Parkway

It’s a great day for the Irish and those who wish they were to come and view the second oldest, continuously held St. Patrick’s Day Parade in America, which has been held since 1771, five years prior to American Independence in 1776.

The annual event features Irish American bands, dancers, and cultural organizations from throughout the Greater Philadelphia region, and in some cases, from beyond. Try to get there early for a good vantage point. Note: Unlike the Mummers Parade on New Year’s Day, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade is on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, not Broad Street.

March 19, 2011- Saturday Anthony Kearns, One of the Founding Irish Tenors, Performs in Suburban Drexel Hill - Call 610.622.1189 for Tickets

Anthony Kearns - who bills himself as “Ireland’s Finest Tenor”- will be performing at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center at 7:30 PM on Saturday, March 19. The venue is located at 601 N. Lansdowne Ave. in Drexel Hill, in the western suburbs of Delaware County. Tickets are priced from $22 to $25. This is his only performance in this area.
