Up in Manayunk, the Mad River Bar and Grille on Main Street, is hosting its annual Pilgrims and Pocahontas Party on Thanksgiving Eve, 2010.
In one of the most unique nightlife offerings in Philadelphia history, anyone dressed fully as a Pilgrim, turkey, or Pocahontas, will be admitted without a cover charge, until 10:00 PM. Down the street from Mad River Manayunk, at the Manayunk Brew Pub, all are welcome at the "Thanksgiving Eve Bash", what it describes as "The Biggest Bar Night of the Year!". The Manayunk Brew Pub's offerings for "Our Pre-Turkey Day Bash" include free admission, prior to 10:00 PM; $2.75 brew drafts up till midnight; free Thanskgiving munchies; Happy Hour between 5 PM and 7 PM, with a dollar off all drinks. Finnigans Wake - the one-time coffin factory, that now is the official entrance to Northern Liberties, at 3rd and Spring Garden Streets - is hosting Gobble Gobble. Johnny Brenda's - located in the upper reaches of Northern Liberties, near 2nd Street and Girard Avenue - will be hosting an '80s themed party, titled "It's the Years 1986/1987". DJs Bo Bliz and Emynd will be spinning tunes from the Reagan era, whether the partiers remember them or not. The party will last from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM, and tickets are $7.00 at the door.
