City Tavern Philadelphia's Walter Staib Serves Family-Style, Prix Fixe Menu on Thanksgiving 2010, At Philadelphia's Most Authentic Colonial Restaurant
The prominent chef Walter Staib, the proprietor of City Tavern Philadelphia - a great Philadelphia tourist attraction, in its own right - is offering a departure from City Tavern's usual a la carte menu, on Thanksgiving 2010.
The Thanksgiving 2010 offer is $82.95/adult, $32.95/child. Alcohol is not included; parties of six or more have a 18% gratuity included. Reservations are highly recommended. Seatings will take place at 1:00 PM, 1:30 PM, 4:00 PM, 4:30 PM, 7:00 PM & 7:30 PM.
The entree is free range roasted turkey, with stuffing, sweet potatoes, smashed red potatoes, dessert, and a Madeira toast (and that's only a concise version of the Thanksgiving menu!) (Imported Madeira was one of the favorite drinks of the typical wealthy, colonial Philadelphian).

Not far From City Tavern, a couple of blocks further south, at 2nd and South Streets - the centerpiece of Philadelphia's bohemian South Street district, is Bridget Foy's. Although just a short distance away, it is far less expensive, and the atmosphere is much less formal.
Bridget Foy's - 200 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147 - encourages patrons to leave the cooking to them, this Thanksgiving. They will be serving Thanksgiving dinner from 12 noon to 8:00 PM, and will be taking reservations at 215.922.1813. On the menu: roast turkey with sausage and fennel stuffing, cranberry compote, sweet potatoes, green and yellow wax beans - and you can also make selections from their fall menu.
Amuse is a new brasserie located in the boutique hotel, Le Meridien. For Thanksgiving 2010, it offers Cider Brined Turkey and Pumpkin Chestnut Soup, among other things. It's located at 1421 Arch Street (Arch between Broad and 15th Streets) and you can call Amuse at 215.422.8222.

Chez Colette at the Sofitel Hotel Philadelphia located at 120 South 17th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103 (17th between Chestnut and Walnut Streets) - serves its version of a Thanksgiving Feast from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a duo of jazz musicians providing entertainment. Davio's - a northern Italian steakhouse located at 111 South 17th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103 (i.e., right up the street from Chez Colette) is offering a Full Family Style Thanksgiving Menu, as well as a Seasonal A La Carte Menu. The Village Belle - a brand-new restaurant at 757 South Front Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147 (Front and Fitzwater Streets in the Queen Village neighborhood) - will be serving Thanksgiving dinner from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on a prix fixe menu of $35/person.
