College Day on the Parkway - Free Admission for Students

Center City District - BLUE - Parkway Museums District
Saturday, September 25, 2010 is the annual College Day on the Parkway. All of the cultural institutions within the Parkway Museums District are offering free admission to any college student, with a valid student ID.

The Museums are offering free admission from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Also, a free shuttle bus will be traveling in a loop, between all of the institutions listed below, from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. (We don't know why the buses stop at 4:00 PM, and not 5:00 PM.)

Of course, you can also make use of the inexpensive Phlash Trolley - which costs only $2.00 per ride, or $5.00 for an all-day pass.

Participating Institutions

The Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Rodin Museum, the Franklin Institute, the Academy of Natural Sciences, Eastern State Penitentiary (Note: Eastern State Pen is not located on the Parkway, but is participating.)

Here's how much you can save, based on the student admission price at every participant:

Philadelphia Museum of Art - $12.00

Eastern State Penitentiary - $8.00

Rodin Museum - $5.00 - it's a suggested contribution, for any visitor.

Franklin Institute - $15.50 - the only one with no student discount, at all

Academy of Natural Sciences - $10.00

The shuttle will also stop at the Free Library of Philadelphia, although by definition, that's always free. So don't waste time, there!

How Can I Make the Most of My Day of Free Benjamin Franklin Parkway Museums?

In order to make the most of your free day visiting the many attractions of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway - we'd recommend that you visit our unique, self-guided Two Day Tour of Philadelphia - the second day of the tour is a highly detailed guide to the Parkway museums and attractions, and is ideal for first-time visitors.

Have a good time!
