Amtrak Philadelphia train service makes it easy to reach the city from anywhere in the Northeast Corridor. New York City, Baltimore, and Washington, DC, are the closest geographically, but you can also travel here quickly and inexpensively from New Haven, Boston, Providence, and Pittsburgh, as well.
Although Amtrak does make other Philadelphia-area stops, its regional hub for Amtrak Philadelphia service is the architecturally dazzling
30th Street Station
- which you see pictured above.
Of course, you still have to get to the major Philadelphia tourist attractions, most of which are a healthy distance from 30th Street Station, so named because it is located at 30th and Market Streets.
Fortunately, you can take
SEPTA Regional Rail
service to either
Market East Station
- at 11th and Market Streets - and/or
- located at 16th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard. Your Amtrak ticket is valid on SEPTA Regional Rail service for trips between 30th Street Station, to and from either Market East or Suburban Station, during the single day of your travel.
