2nd Street Festival 2011 Philadelphia in Northern Liberties

The 3rd Annual 2nd Street Festival is returning to Northern Liberties on Sunday, July 31. It has been fused with the the 50th Annual Philadelphia Folk Festival for that date. Over 10,000 people are anticipated to attend this year's event.

2nd Street will be closed from its 700 to its 1000 blocks. There will be three music stages to enjoy, all free of charge.

In light of the crowd and the compact neighborhood in general, we would strongly recommend SEPTA. However, the Northern Liberties neighborhood can be dangerous, particularly at night. Accordingly, we've created a standalone, comprehensive Traveling to Northern Liberties Guide, to get you there with maximum safety and convenience.

If you have a car, you also can combine a visit to the 2nd Street Festival 2011 Philadelphia, with the many attractions of Old City Philadelphia, a few blocks south. In particular, Elfreth’s Alley and the Betsy Ross House are a few blocks away to the south. Be highly cognizant, however, that Old City is much, much safer than Northern Liberties, and don’t try to walk from Old City all the way up there. You can park in Old City and cab it up and back to Northern Liberties, but don’t walk it. It’s not safe, and even if it were, it would be too hot and humid to walk, anyhow.

Since 2nd Street Festival 2011 Philadelphia falls on the cusp between July and August, we’d also encourage you to check out our thorough July 2011 Philadelphia Events Guide and August 2011 Philadelphia Events Guide, respectively.
